This week we interviewed our customer, Sirenite Cosplay! See more of their work via Facebook!

Q: When did you start cosplaying, and what got you started?
A: I first started cosplaying approximately 6 years ago. Just a while before my friend had worn a cosplay to Halloween, and I thought the idea of a wig and specific costume was very interesting. Shortly after I started attending events, and when I realized I could cosplay from one of my favourite games (Kingdom Hearts) I was hooked!

Q: What is your favorite part of the costume-making process?
A: I LOVE the problem solving aspect. I like taking a 2D model of a costume or prop and figuring out how it would work in the real world, with limited resources, and for my specific body type. Which is probably why I make most of my costumes – I love to create.

Q: Which costume are you most proud of?
A: Neo! One of the first corsets I ever made and I’m super proud of my wig styling and fabric choices. And that parasol is just too fun.

Q: Do you have a favorite Arda Wig style and/or color?
A: My favourite style is the Ferrari. I feel like it’s a super versatile look and a great casual cut. My favourite colour to wear is Maroon, and I often dye my hair a similar colour.

Q: What advice do you have for new cosplayers getting into the hobby?
A: ASK QUESTIONS. As long as you’re polite, questions never hurt anybody, and most cosplayers are more than willing to help educate others because they remember being in your position. You can learn so many new techniques, and even if you don’t use them right away they’ll likely sit in your brain to remember later. It can help you learn so much faster and is a really great conversation starter!
