Arda’s Best Face Forward!
Are you an up and coming makeup artist? Want to show off your skills to the world? We’re now taking portfolio submissions for Arda’s Best Face Forward (BFF) 2016! Impress us by showing off your range of abilities in makeup! From October 17th until 5pm CST October 24th, we will be accepting portfolios for review with contestants announced no later than Friday the 28th.
To Enter: Submit a makeup portfolio showing off your BEST 3-5 makeup looks done on yourself or on a model via our handy submission form. Looks may be inspired or revolve around any subject matter, but at least one submitted look MUST be Halloween-themed.
5 makeup contestants will be picked by the Arda team to be a part of Arda’s BFF 2016. Your entries can include makeup from any brand, not just brands that we sell. Portfolio examples do not need to be displayed on a model, but models are welcome. Although we love to see submissions from around the world, the challenge is limited to domestic United States residents only due to shipping restrictions on cosmetic items.
Contestants will be sent a package of materials in advance, and the challenge guidelines will be announced once all contestants have received their packages. There will be a limited number of days to complete the challenge and to return to us high-quality photos of the finished product. All makeup work must be done yourself, and photo documentation of your progress is not required, but can will definitely aid us when it comes to judging and receiving a higher score.
For each round there will be a public voting poll for the submitted looks, as well as a review by a panel of Arda judges. The scores will be posted, and one or two contestants will be cut each round based on their scores. Contestants that are cut will go home with a $50 certificate for participating. The contestant with the highest score each round will get immunity for the next round (except the third round and the final round), and the winner of the public poll will receive a $20 gift certificate to our website.
The winner of Arda’s BFF 2016 will win a $75 gift certificate to our website as well as a large package of makeup essentials: (examples could include: eyeshadow palettes, foundation palettes, contouring palettes, an airbrush kit, body paints, eyeliners, lipliners, lipsticks, blushes, etc). Total value of this package will be up to $350. Second place will receive a $50 gift certificate to our website as well as a package with a total value of $150. Prize items are not redeemable for cash, and no portion of the prize package will be substituted for cash or additional credit.
By submitting, and in the event of acceptance to this contest, you agree to give Arda Wigs commercial use of any photos sent us, including posting to Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Youtube, and the website. You understand your photos may be used for future promotional purposes and ads. No monetary compensation will be given to the photographer or the model. Please have written permission from your photographer/s before submitting photos. Failing to obtain photographer permission will result in disqualification. Arda Wigs does not share any personal information with any third party. Read our Official Rules below; your entry means you have read them, understand them, and agree to them.

Don’t forget to include your name, mailing address (sorry, no P.O. boxes!), and cosplay alias and/or page link (if you have one).
Additional information:
– Current sponsors of Arda Wigs are not qualified to submit to Arda BFF
– Contest will run from November 1st until January 31st.
– Contestant scores will be posted to our blog and social media.
– Contestants are welcome to request a private critique via email; critiques will not be publicly posted.
– We will be starting with no more than 5 contestants.
– The number of rounds is expected to be between 4-5. Double-elimination rounds are possible.
– This contest is a time commitment. Please don’t enter if your schedule is too busy or you are not willing to complete the challenges.
-There will be NO deadline extensions. Looks must be completed within the time restrictions. No exceptions.
– Contestants unable to meet the challenge deadline or follow the rules within this document will be either disqualified or have their score heavily penalized. No prizes will be awarded to contestants who have been disqualified or have dropped out.
– Contest is run on Central USA time; send your entry within enough time for it to be received by us before the deadline. Exceptions will not be made for internet outages, emails not sending, etc etc etc. We will reply to confirm your entry has been received.

By participating, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Arda Wigs®, which are binding and final in all matters relating to this Challenge.

Portfolio submissions (an “Entry” or “Entries”) will be accepted beginning at 12:00 PM Central Standard Time on October 17, 2016 and ends at 5:00 PM (noon) Central Standard Time on October 24, 2016. Contest rounds will begin late October 2016 and will end no later than February of 2017.
Entry may not contain, as determined by Arda Wigs®, in its sole discretion, any content that is sexually explicit or suggestive; unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; profane or pornographic; contains nudity; promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing); promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous; promotes any particular political agenda or message that is obscene or offensive; endorses any form of hate or hate group; appears to duplicate any other submitted Entries; defames, misrepresents or contains disparaging remarks about other people or companies; contains trademarks, logos, or trade dress (such as distinctive packaging) owned by others, without permission; contains any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses; contains copyrighted materials owned by others (including photographs, sculptures, paintings, and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media), without permission; contains materials embodying the names, likenesses, voices, or other indicia identifying any person, including, without limitation, celebrities and/or other public or private figures, living or dead, without permission; communicates messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or good will to which Arda Wigs® wishes to associate; and/or violates any law.
By submitting an Entry, each Contestant grants, and represents and warrants that the Contestant has the rights and authority necessary to grant, Arda Wigs® an irrevocable, non-exclusive, fully sublicensable license and right to exploit, edit, modify, and distribute the Entry and all elements of such Entry, including, without limitation, the photo, video, and the likenesses of any locations and/or persons embodied therein, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, in perpetuity without compensation, permission or notification to Contestant or any third party. Arda Wigs® is not responsible for the unauthorized use of the Entry by any third-party. If the Entry contains any material or elements that are not owned by the Contestant, and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, the Contestant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the Entry, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the use and exhibition of the Entry. Contestant shall indemnify Arda Wigs® in the event any legal action is taken against Arda Wigs® as a result of Contestant’s entry. Contestant agrees to indemnify and hold Arda Wigs® harmless from and against any claims, damages, lawsuits, attorneys’ fees and costs related to Contestant’s submission of the Entry.
Arda Wigs® reserves the right to request proof of these permissions in a form acceptable to Arda Wigs® from any Contestant at any time. Failure to provide such proof may, if requested, render the Entry null and void. By submitting an Entry, Contestant warrants and represents that he/she and any persons appearing or who are identifiable in the Entry consent to the submission and use of the Entry in the Contest and to its use as otherwise set forth herein. Arda Wigs® reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to verify any element of any Entry or related materials and to disqualify any Contestant whose participation may subject the challenge, Arda Wigs®, or Arda Wigs®’s advertisers, clients, or customers to controversy, negative publicity, scorn, or ridicule.
All Prizes presented are at the judges’ discretion. In the event the winner cannot be reached or contacted, no award or compensation will be given and a new winner may be selected. Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash, but Arda Wigs® reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, if any, as well as any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided. All prize details are at Arda Wigs®’s sole discretion. The award of any prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules.
By submitting your Entry, you agree that your Entry conforms to these Official Rules and that Arda Wigs®, in its sole discretion, may disqualify your Entry for any reason, including if it determines, in its sole discretion, that your Entry fails to conform to these Official Rules in any way or otherwise contains unacceptable content as determined by Arda Wigs®, in its sole discretion.
By participating in this Contest, you agree to RELEASE Arda Wigs®, and any other organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion of the Contest and each of their respective parents, agents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in this Contest and/or acceptance, use or misuse or any product provided by Arda Wigs®, and/or acceptance, use or misuse of any prize.
Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, undelivered, garbled or misdirected Entries, uploaded photos, application downloads or installations, emails, votes or registrations; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing of Entries or uploaded photos, application downloads or installations, the announcement of the prizes, the tabulation of votes or in any Contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to Contestants’ or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the website. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to Contestants related to or resulting from use of makeup or wigs in connection with this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the website. Arda Wigs® reserves the right, in its sole discretion to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the website or otherwise in violation of these Official Rules. Arda Wigs® further reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate or modify this Contest if the Contest is compromised by virus, technical corruption, non-authorized human intervention, or any other causes which, in the sole discretion of Arda Wigs®, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, proper play or integrity of the Contest. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, ARDA WIGS® WILL DISQUALIFY ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
IN NO EVENT SHALL ARDA WIGS®, ITS AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, SHAREHOLDERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS BE LIABLE (JOINTLY OR SEVERALLY) TO YOU FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTEST OR ANY MATERIALS USED BY YOU IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTEST, ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, AND WHETHER OR NOT ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THE PRODUCT OR SERVICES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ALL MATERIALS INCORPORATED THEREIN AND ALL FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITY OF THE SERVICE). If any authority holds any portion of this section to be unenforceable, then liability will be limited to the fullest possible extent permitted by law.
Your participation in the Contest and use of Arda Wigs®’s website shall be governed by the laws of Illinois, without regard to choice of law provisions.
You agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating in any way to this Contest, Arda Wigs®, or this Arbitration Agreement, shall be determined by binding arbitration or in small claims court in Cook County, Illinois. The arbitrator can award the same damages and relief that a court could award. You agree that the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this provision, and that you are waiving the right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class action. This arbitration provision shall survive termination of this Contest.
Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use each Contestant’s name, hometown (city and state), voice, biographical information, likeness, photograph and any statements regarding this Contest in all media now known or hereafter discovered, for any purpose, including without limitation, in connection with, and to promote, market or advertise the Contest, in whole or in part, without review, approval, credit or attribution, notification or payment from or to Contestant or any person or entity, worldwide, in perpetuity, or on a winner’s list, if applicable. Contest is subject to all applicable U.S. federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Arda Wigs® reserves the right to make changes to these Official Rules at any time.
