Customer Spotlight: Chibinischan
Q: When did you start cosplaying, and what got you started?
A: I started in 2002 after seeing some cosplayers at my first convention in 2001. Everyone looked so beautiful in their costumes and I simply wanted to belong to those wonderful people. In 2002 I wore my first self-made costume and was easily addicted.
Q: What is your favorite part of the costume-making process?
A: I don’t like sewing much, but styling wigs is a lot of fun. It’s always fascinating – what you can do with wigs. I mean, even the craziest hairstyle is possible to be made real, isn’t that amazing? However, I think for me the part of wearing the costume is the most enjoyable. When you see everything together and can be proud of what you were able to make, that’s the best.
Q: Which costume are you most proud of?
A: Oh that’s really difficult. I think I’ll go with my Zero R2 costume from Code Geass here. I was so proud of the jacket because it’s fully lined and fitted so well. I never lined a jacket before. A lot of work went into the shirt and coat as well, not to mention the helmet. I am really bad a crafting, so this was a big achievement. Yes, I think it’s my Zero, if I have to choose.
Q: Do you have a favorite Arda Wig style and/or color?
A: I really love the Matilda. It’s full and soft and it comes with a lace front! My favorite colors are Plum, Midnight Blue, and Crimson. <3
Q: What advice do you have for new cosplayers getting into the hobby?
A: Have fun and don’t let others drag you down. All those cosplayers you may look up to had to start at one point and you can totally reach their level. ^.^ Just have fun cosplaying and don’t give up because something didn’t work out the way you wanted it at the first attempt. Just give it another try <3
