This week we interviewed our customer, KrabbyCrabtastic! See more of her work via Facebook!

Q: When did you start cosplaying, and what got you started?
A: I started cosplaying at my very first convention which was  New York Comic Con 2010. The reason it took me so long to get into this hobby was simple, I had no idea such a hobby even existed. I learned about it through a friend of my sister and after that first con I was completely hooked.

Q: What is your favorite part of the costume-making process?
A: My favorite part of making a costume is probably creating a gravity defying wig. When I first start a wig I have absolutely no idea what i’m doing or if it will even work out.  In the end it’s just so extremely rewarding to see what a mob of hair can actually become.

Q: Which costume are you most proud of?
A: The cosplay i’m most proud of goes to my Cloud Strife. I’ve done two versions, a male and female and both have been remade completely numerous of times. Just this year I finished remaking my male version and I could not be more proud of the results.

Q: Do you have a favorite Arda Wig style and/or color?
A: My favorite Arda style hands down goes to the Magnum long in platinum blonde. I’ve bought so many wigs in that style and color I’ve lost count.  It’s quite possibly one of the best base wigs I’ve worked with.

Q: What advice do you have for new cosplayers getting into the hobby?
A: Never compare your cosplay to one someone else has done.  Everyone does things different and being different isn’t a bad thing.  I’ve seen too many cases where others including myself try and compare their work and in the end you will only make yourself depressed. Trust me it isn’t worth it, instead you shouldn’t be afraid to be yourself! You need to just be you and continue your love of being your favorite character without the care of comparing or what anyone says.
