Arda: What is your creative outlet?
Blue Jay Cosplay: Cosplay and makeup!
Arda: Tell us a little bit about your featured photo!
BJC: This was taken at Heroescon 2017. Originally I had done a classic Pearl outfit but I decided to change it up with Last One Out of Beach City Pearl. I love Steven Universe so much! The diversity and plot, in my opinion, make it one of the best cartoons of this decade.
The wig was styled with Got2B Glued products by basically holding it up so that the hair hung down to spray it.
The jacket was thrifted and I made the patch with some vinyl I had lying around. The gem is clay painted with nail polish and the shirt was handmade.
Makeup was basic, Mehron CreamBlend Stick in 1B Alabaster. Blue eyeshadow was brushed on the cheeks and around the eyes. Lipstick and eyebrow color in pinks.
The costume itself was a lot of fun to wear!
Arda: Which look/costume are you most proud of?
BJC: My Azula cosplay from Avatar the Last Airbender is my favorite cosplay to date. I handmade everything, even hand painted the boots. I wanted to give it more of a realistic feel so I used brocade and pleather materials only. I was especially proud of the wig styled from a Virginia in Deep Brown.
Arda: Do you have a favorite Arda Wig style and/or color?
BJC: My favorite style is probably the Kyle, I just love undercuts and I was so excited when it was released. My favorite color has to be Deep Brown, I rarely get Black because Deep Brown just photographs so well!
Arda: What Arda product are you dying to try out?
BJC: Is it weird to say, besides the wigs I'm dying to get, I really want a Bald Cap? I really wanna cosplay Aang from Avatar the Last Airbender.
Arda: Anything else you’d like to tell us?
BJC: I am always suggesting Arda Wigs to friends because of the unique styles and colors they offer. True some wigs are pricey but if you're planning on wearing it multiple times it's worth the investment! Arda Wigs are strong and durable as well as optimal for styling because of their thickness.
