Q: When did you start cosplaying, and what got you started?
A: I actually started cosplaying in college, about 10 years ago. I grew up in a really small town, and wasn’t introduced into anything like this until I went to college. I had a friend that took me under her wing and taught me everything she knew, so her teachings that led to me being the cosplayer I am today.
Q: What is your favorite part of the costume-making process?
A: I love researching and planning, but my favorite part is the sewing. Getting everything together just right, when an inserted corner come out perfect, or the seams line up just right, that’s what I strive for.
Q: Which costume are you most proud of?
A: It’s really a tie between Merida and Elsa. I love my wig for Merida and my hand beaded princess dress. Elsa was by far the most difficult with tons of hand stitching, new techniques, and my first lace front wig with heavy styling.
Q: Do you have a favorite Arda Wig style and/or color?
A: My favorite wig to wear around is the Magnum in Spanish brown. It’s my Rapunzel and Kiki wig, so many people think it’s my real hair!
Q: What advice do you have for new cosplayers getting into the hobby?
A: Do what makes you happy, and don’t let anyone put you down for doing things your own way. Cosplay is anything you make it, and you can rock it however you choose!
